We continually strive to communicate incidents and damages to our clients in a forthright and direct manner. Our aim is to provide premium and cost-effective surveys whilst issuing timely and informative advices and reports.

As vessel and yacht incidents can occur anywhere, Steve is conveniently based in Hong Kong with direct and rapid access to China by high-speed train, and to countries such as Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, and Taiwan through Hong Kong International Airport.

Fee Structure

We typically charge an extremely competitive local or international hourly rate dependant on the type of work being conducted.

We welcome you to contact us for a quote, noting that we can consider block fees, dependant on the client’s expectations and requirements.

We strive to maintain all expenses as low as possible and at cost, and we never include unnecessary additions.

With an industry need for quality survey, Captain Steve Hawthorne started HKIMS. With over 10 years in the Far East Region, working for Braemar Technical Services Pte Ltd (BTS) in both Singapore and Hong Kong he understands the region well.

During his time with BTS, Steve was involved in numerous marine casualty investigations and in warranty work, general claims and condition surveys throughout the Far East Region.
